Can anyone who knows how to ride a regular bike ride one?
How safe are E-Bikes?
Yes, but there are some things to consider before riding an e-bike. Like how comfortable you feel, how confident a rider you are, can you handle the bike's acceleration and braking? With proper instruction and practice, your suitability can be assessed.
As with any transportation, there are some common sense things you can do to ensure your safety. Wear a helmet with reflective clothing and sunglasses. Use proper riding etiquette such as a bell with proper hand or bike signals.
Do you need to be a certain age in order to rent a bike?
Is there a weight limit?
Yes. Must be at least 18 years of age or be accompanied by an adult with a drivers license to rent one of our bikes from us.
The payload capacity of our bikes are around 275lbs with the exception of the Radwagon cargo bike, with a payload capacity of 350lbs.
Will I need a driver's License to rent one?
Yes. Adults age 18 or older must have a valid drivers license in order to rent from us. We provide all riders with a safety helmet and service all our bikes.
What is the top speed?
Rad Power Bikes have a top speed of 20 mph (32 km/h) without pedaling, which is the legal limit for street legal e-bikes. There is nothing that will physically prevent you from exceeding 20 mph when pedaling, but you will not receive any motor assistance once you exceed 20 mph, which is the legal limit in most locations for use on road.
